Mike and Shari JonesI grew up in Syracuse, New York where my mom and dad were both teachers: English and driver's education, respectively. My three brothers and I enjoyed participating in basketball, rowing, and soccer throughout school. Growing up, I combined my passion for sports with my innate propensity for teaching as I was a YMCA summer counselor, taught swim lessons, and coached rowing and basketball teams. In 1986, I graduated with a degree in Commercial Recreation from the State University of New York at Brockport where I met my wife, Shari. We moved to Rochester, New York and my professional career began with Xerox where I created and maintained athletic programs for 14,000 employees. In 1999, we moved to Charlottesville and I started my most rewarding teaching job by becoming a stay-at-home Dad with our daughters Mackenzie and Megan. In 2005, I took a job as the K-8 Physical Education teacher for the Charlottesville Catholic School and in 2011 I became a certified driving instructor with Green Light Driving School. I thoroughly enjoyed the teaching process and transitioned into owning the company in 2017.
